Portuguese coloratura-soprano LEONOR AMARAL, praised by the press for her "chrystal clear, ringing voice", her "exceptional musicality", as well as for her "natural stage presence" and her "irresistible charm", is a member of the ensemble at Theater Erfurt since the 2018/19 season.
Her interpretation of ZERLINE in Auber's "Fra Diavolo", in stage direction of Hendrik Müller, marked a "sensational start" in Erfurt: "the outstanding singer of the evening" ... "musical discovery of the production..."

Further parts, which she performed not less successfully, have been so far NORINA in Donizetti's "Don Pasquale". KÖNIGIN DER NACHT in Mozart's "Zauberflöte" and Mdm HERZ in his "Der Schauspieldirektor",  "KITTY HAT in Jack Haggie's "Dead Man Walking",  1. SOPRANO in Reich's "Three Tales", SOPRANO in Orff's "Carmina Burana", OTTILIE & KLÄRCHEN in Benatzky's operetta "Im Weißesn Rössl"; and a "highly adorable" FINDUS in N. Ramdohr's children's opera "Pettersson & Findus und der Hahn im Korb" at the DomStufenFestspiele Erfurt.

In addition, she appeared as  2. VERKÄUFERIN / 2. KLEPTOMANIN / 2. DAME in Micha Spoliansky's Revue-operetta "Es liegt in der Luft", which due to Corona, had to be cancelled at Staatsoperette Dresden, as well as Mrs Amaral's debut at the Oper Leipzig in the part of FRASQUITA in Bizet's "Carmen" .

After a baby-break, in 2022/23 Mrs Amaral returned to the musical world with the Italian Opera-Gala with Bergische Symphoniker, and appeared in the X-Mas-Concerts with Noord Nederlands Orkest and  New Years Concerts with the Philharmonie Südwesfalen. Furthermore, she sang in concert-performances the parts of ZERLINA in Mozart's "Don Giovanni" under Nuno Coelho with the Orquestra Gulbenkian at the Fundação Calouste Gulbenkian in Lisbon, and alongside tenor Michael SchadeNADINE in Mozart's "Der Stein der Weisen" with the Hofkapelle München and the Chor der Klangverwaltung München under the baton of Rüdiger Lotter in the Parktheater Göggingen (Augsburg, Bavaria) and  the Kaisersaal der Residenz at Mozartfest Würzburg (Bavaria). This production also was reordered on CD. (Date of release tab soon)
In summer, she will return to the DomStufenFestspiele Erfurt to perform LI SI in Rokahr's children's opera "Jim Knopf und Lukas der Lokomotivführer".

Before joining the ensemble of the Theater Erfurt, Leonor was 2 seasons member of Theater Nordhausen, performing ADELE in J. Strauß' "Die Fledermaus"MUSETTA in Puccini's "La Bohème", MARIE in Lortzing's "Zar & Zimmermann", SŒR CONSTANCE in Poulenc's "Dialogues des Carmélites" and SERPINA in "La Serva Padrona" by Pergolesi; as well as the musical-parts of  LUCY in Frank Wildhorn's "Dracula", CHAVA in Bocks "Anatveka". and  QUEEN ELISABETH I. in der the German Premier of  Claude-Michel Schoenbergs"The Pirate Queen".

Guest commitments led her as  FRASQUITA in Bizet's "Carmen" and ARMIDA in Händel's "Rinaldo" to the International Chiemgau Festival Gut Immling; as CLORINDA in Rossini's "La Cenerentola" to the Festival Oper Schloß Hallwyl; as TAUMÄNNCHEN in Humperdinck's "Hänsel & Gretel" to the Württembergisches Kammerorchester Heilbronn; and as SOPRAN II. in Oehring's "AscheMOND oder The Fairy Queen" to the Oper Wuppertal.

Leonor Amaral is not only a wanted interpreter for opera. but also a sought after artist for concerts
Her ORATORIO-REpertoirewhich she performed at the Kölner Philharmonie, the  Historischen Stadthalle Wuppertal, the Berliner Dom and the Berliner Konzerthaus, the Kammermusikwochen Lübeck, the Tonhalle Düsseldorf, with the Pera Ensemble at the Philharmonie am Gasteig München or with Concerto Stella Matutina at the Monforthaus in Feldkirch (Austria) includes among others the "classics" such as Bach's "Weihnachtsoratorium", "Johannespassion" and "Matthäuspassion"Berlioz' "Le Nuits d'étè", Ellington's "The second sacred concert" or Gubaidulina's "Hommage a T.C. Elliot". Händel's "Messiah", Haydn's "Die Schöpfung", Mozart's "Exultate Jubilate" or Orff's "Carmina Burana", 
And with pianist Amina Taikenova, Mrs. Amaral performs SONG-RECITALS with for example Schumann's "Frauenliebe-und Leben",  Bernstein's "I Hate Music" and Mozarts-Songs at the Heidelberger Frühling and the Monforthaus Feldkirch.

Recently, she appeared with "X-Mas Classics at the movies" and with "Crazy Girl" with the Nordwestdeutsche Philharmonie under the baton of Cameron Burns at the famous Royal Concertgebouw Hall Amsterdam, where she also appeared in "Moviestars in X-Mas" with the Noord Nederlands Orkest.
She sang "Wonderful Portugal", a solo-concert with the WDR Funkhausorchester, a benefit-concert of the Musikkorps der Bundeswehr at the Kurhaus Wiesbaden, New Year's Concerts with the Bayer Leverkusen Philharmoniker, and a concert-tour with "New Years Concerts"  with the Nordwestdeutsche Philharmonie.

The soprano had the pleasure to work with the conductors and stage directors Rüdiger Bohn, Cristiano Fioravanti, Rubén Gazarian, Sofia Gubaidulina, Gregor Horres, Greaem Jenkins, Anette Leisternschenider, Sandra Leupold, Hendrik Müller, Myron Michailidis, Guy Montavon, Ryusuke Numajiri, Anton Pilavachi, Yannis Pospurikas oder Markus Weckesser.

LeonorAmaral, graduated from the German Highschool in her hometown Lisbon, and first obtained a  Bachelor’s Degree in Management at the NOVA Business School of Economics Lissabon and at the Business-University Vienna, before she studied VOICE (Bachelor's Degree) with Chr. Prégardien at the Coservatory for Music and Dance in Cologne, and later on with Konrad Jarnot and Anja Paulus at the Robert Schumann Conservatory Düsseldorf, and subsequently  with Caroline Stein (Master's Degree) at the Conservatory for Music Lübeck.

She completed her education in masterclasses with  Anna Tomowa-Sintow, Konrad Jarnot, Claudia Visca (Voice) and Joāo Paulo Santos (interpretation); in Musical-and-Dance-Workshops at the Art Center New York and at the  Operastudio of Theater Lübeck, where she appeared as MI in Lehàr's "Das Land des Lächelns" and GRETCHEN in Lortzing's "Der Wildschütz".

At the moment, she is coached by renowned singing-teacher Roberta Cunningham.

Leonor Amaral was several times 1st Prize Winner at the  "Jugend musiziert"-Competition"; a Semi-Finalist at the "Neue Stimmen Wettbewerb" (2015), and Finalist at the "International Antonio Cesti Competition for Baroque Opera" (2017).
She is a proud recipient of the DAAD, and the Menuhin-Live-Now-Foundation.
